1. Who operates Paws & Progress

This website, Paws & Progress, is operated from Belgium. Paws & Progress is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Because the site is operated from the European Union, we aim to handle personal information in line with the principles of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where it applies. For privacy questions, see section 14.

2. Information you choose to give us

Training-plan quiz

If you take our quiz, we store your answers (your dog's main challenge, age group, how often it happens, when it's hardest, what you've tried and your goal), the guide and optional resource we recommended, and the time you completed it. We don't ask for your dog's name, your name or any sensitive information.

Email address

To unlock your plan on screen you provide your email address. We store it with your quiz answers. We do not currently send plan emails.

Marketing preferences

Ongoing training tips and recommendations are sent only if you tick the optional, unticked box. We record whether you agreed and when. Requesting a plan alone is not consent to marketing.

Contact form

If you contact us, we store your name, email, subject and message so we can read and respond.

3. Technical information

Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may process technical data such as IP address, browser type and requested pages to deliver the site and keep it secure. We do not use advertising pixels or tracking cookies. To understand how the site is used, we record anonymous activity on our own servers: pages viewed, quiz steps (for example quiz started or plan viewed), clicks to recommended resources, the general traffic source (such as Pinterest, search or direct), the referring website's name, your device type (mobile, tablet or desktop), any campaign tags in the link you followed (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content), your selected website language, and your country as indicated by our hosting network. Your IP address is not stored by us. Anonymous records older than 13 months are removed when the owner loads the analytics dashboard. These records are linked only to random codes stored in your browser — not to your name, email or IP address — and are not shared with advertising or third-party analytics services.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We do not set tracking or advertising cookies. The site uses your browser's session storage to remember that you've closed the quiz invitation, which general source brought you to the site, and a random visit code. Local storage keeps a random visitor code so repeat visits aren't counted as new visitors; it contains no personal information and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings. Session storage is cleared when you close your browser; local storage remains until you clear it. A preference cookie remembers your explicitly selected language for up to one year; it is used only to display your chosen language. If we introduce analytics or other non-essential technologies, we will update this policy and ask for consent where required.

5. How we use information and why we're allowed to

Under the GDPR we rely on the following grounds: delivering the plan you request and replying to your messages (steps you ask us to take); sending marketing emails only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time; and keeping the site secure and working (our legitimate interest in running the service).

  • To show your personalised training plan.
  • If you opted in, to send training emails tailored to the challenge you selected once email sending is set up.
  • To respond to contact messages.
  • To maintain the website's security and fix problems.

6. Email communication

Every marketing email will include an unsubscribe link. Withdrawing consent does not affect the plan you already received. Automatic plan emails are not yet active; your plan is shown on screen immediately.

7. Affiliate links and third-party websites

Some pages link to third-party training resources (Brain Training for Dogs, Fast Dog Training, and physical accessories on Amazon). If you click these links, those sites may collect information under their own privacy policies. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

8. Service providers

We use a managed cloud database and hosting provider to run the site and store the information described above. These providers process data on our behalf to operate the service. We do not sell your personal information.

9. Data retention

Quiz submissions, contact messages and related personal information are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes they were collected for — providing the services you requested, maintaining appropriate records, handling your requests and meeting applicable legal obligations. If you unsubscribe, your marketing status is updated straight away and you won't receive further marketing emails. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

10. Security

Stored information is held in a database that is not publicly accessible and is only written to through our server. No online system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

11. International processing

Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards are relied upon by those providers.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your information, object to or restrict processing, receive a copy of your data, withdraw consent at any time, and lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority — in Belgium, the Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données). You can unsubscribe from marketing using the link in any marketing email.

13. Children's privacy

Paws & Progress is intended for adult dog owners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

14. Contacting us about privacy

To make a request or ask a question, use our contact form.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices change. The effective date above shows when it was last revised.
